What Is Amino Lean?

Amino Lean is a weight loss / intra-workout supplement produced by a US-based company named RSP Nutrition. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this review, RSP Nutrition are not registered on any consumer review outlets (such as Better Business Bureau), meaning we are unable to gain insight into their trading history and customer service.

Amino Lean can be purchased from the official RSP website (www.rspnutrition.com) and Amazon. It may also be available in certain stores.

One tub of Amino Lean costs $19.99, contains 30 servings and will last users approximately one month based on the set directions of one scoop per day.

As with most crossover supplements, Amino Lean is designed to tick multiple boxes. It is targeted towards those who are looking for an intra-workout amino acid drink primarily, however it’s also targeted towards those who are looking to lose weight (based on the added “weight loss ingredient” content).

Consumers are told to expect effects such as improved energy and physical endurance, the improved ability to metabolize body fat and enhanced muscle recovery times.

Does Amino Lean Work?

Based on our research into this product, it really does seem like a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, Amino Lean contains ingredients that will help improve your stamina, strength and metabolic rates, however on the other hand it contains amino acids which may actually slow down the rate in which your body burns stored fat as a source of energy.

Regardless, we do not believe that Amino Lean is a good supplement to use exclusively for weight loss. The primary reason why we think this is because the concept of an amino acid drink meets a fat burner clash, in a pretty big way.

Amino acid drinks are typically used to provide the body with energy throughout a workout – this is why amino acid drinks are recommended as intra-workout (aka. during-workout) supplements. When you drink amino acids while working out, the body will use the additional amino’s as a source of energy, burning them as a fuel source. Without getting too “sciency”, if your goal is weight loss then you want your body burning fat as its main source of energy, not amino acids that you’re adding into your diet.

This is the whole problem with this product – we have found research showing that amino acid supplements can sometimes hinder fat loss. While Amino Lean does have some additional ingredients that can help boost your metabolic rates (such as Green Tea Extract and Green Coffee Extract), we believe that these alone are not enough to cause any significant weight loss results.

Looking at the packaging and marketing write-up we can see that RSP deem this product as an “energy formula”, which is a pretty accurate name for it.

We would advise anyone interested in using this product to treat it as more of a helping hand, rather than a bonafide “fat burning drink”. If you’re willing to put in the effort in the gym and revamp your daily calorie intake amounts, there’s no reason why you couldn’t see weight loss results using Amino Lean as a support product for targeting a leaner physique.

To conclude our Amino Lean review, it’s a bit of a mixed bag – there are things that we like about it and things that we aren’t too blown away by. We believe that this product is not really something you’d really want to use if you’re exclusively trying to lose weight as intaking amino acids can be counter-productive to anyone looking to burn fat.

Amino Lean is decent if you’re just looking for an amino acid-based drink with an additional little stimulant kick for energy, but it’s certainly not going to directly and independently “burn away body fat”.
